Anyone know anything about Paris?

Summer plans are underway and, it turns out it's cheaper for our family to get "around the world" tickets to the States than to go straight east. We're going Saipan-Tokyo-Paris as our first stop, where we'll spend five day. Anyone out there been to Paris? Can you recommend which part of Paris a romantic couple with four children ages 3, 5, 7 and 9 should stay? I've spent the last hour looking at vacation apartments in Paris, which seem to be the way to go for us. But in which part of the city?

The Metro was very easy to navigate, so when I was there, poor and backpacking, the concern was cheap and not location.

You'll have a blast, I'm sure.

As long as you tell everyone that you are Canadian, you should be fine.

I went there in 91 and 92.

I was there in June five years ago, and it was very cool and light out until very late. A sharp contrast to Rome where I went next. Champs Elysee was very disappointing. Tons of movies and expensive stores. I think the Latin Quarter was where the reasonably priced restaurants and other small shops were, but my memory is hazy at this point.

Lots of fun things to do in Paris. Latin Quarter, Museums, river trip down the Sienne, cathedrals, farmers markets, etc. Have a great time :)

I'll be there about two weeks (stopping over for a day and a half on the return from Haifa). Will let you know what it looks like upon return.

I walked up the Eiffel Tower when I was there. There are three levels (if I remember correctly). You can only walk up to the second highest one, after that you have to take the elevator.
